Draden van ons slavernijverleden (free)
We show the result of an impressive project: a 35-metre-long tapestry made by hundreds of helping hands from all over North Brabant, filled with stories about our province's slavery past.
About Draden van ons slavernijverleden
From February to July, hundreds of people in North Brabant embroidered, tufted and quilted. Together, we brought artist Victor Sonna's design to life. The result? A metre-long tapestry that is not only a tribute, but also a shared memory and an invitation to conversation. With this project, we make visible together what often remained hidden: the traces of slavery in our own environment.
The completed tapestry will be on display for free on our Panoramadeck from 22 July and will then travel through the province.
