Dyeing
What is dyeing?
Dyeing is the colouring of threads or raw materials by means of pigments.
The machines
There are two dyeing machines in the TextielLab.
The thread dyeing machine
With the computer-controlled thread dyeing machine a maximum of six cones, being spools of yarn, can be dyed at the same time.
The skein dyeing machine
The skein dyeing machine is suitable for dyeing skeins of threads and raw fibres.
Only threads for the Textielmuseum are dyed in the dyeing machines of the TextielLab. No dyeing of threads and fibers is done for clients.
