Smart Textiles are a new trend on the intersections of fashion, art and technology, where innovative materials and electronics are integrated in a textile carrier. Artists and designers are bringing textiles to life using movement, light and sound and thus they visualise their views on contemporary culture. Pretty Smart Textiles brings together for the first time e-textiles made by young artists and designers in the Netherlands. The exhibition is an initiative of Stichting Villanuts, and is curated by Melissa Coleman and Dorith Sjardijn.

Participating artists and designers: Daan Roosegaarde, Maartje Dijkstra, Meg Grant, Nicky Assmann, Dorith Sjardijn, Melissa Coleman, Heike Sperber, Marina Venendaal, Karina van Heck, Florian Kräutli, Aduen Darriba, Joachim Rotteveel, Anouk Wipprecht, Charlotte 't Hart, Evelyn Lebis, Paula Kassenaar, Paula Segura Meccia, Mark Kwikkers.

Two works in the exhibition were made in the Textile Lab in Audax Textile Museum Tilburg. The samples of these works are still on display in the Textile Lab in the museum. These two works are made by Dorith Sjardijn and Melissa Coleman.
