Museum in operation
Audax Textile Museum Tilburg is not just a museum. It's a place where a great diversity of people and activities come together. It is a meeting place where history meets its present and its future and where both visitors and professionals play a central role.
An extensive and exceptional collection of machinery, textile products and textile art can be found in the museum as well as old and new forms of textile techniques and production. But the museum also houses the TextileLab, the museum in operation, where not only the young and ambitious but also the established designers and artists get the opportunity to realize their dreams.

Collaboration and the sharing of knowledge
The museum maintains a strong relationship with all sorts of educational institutions and provides assignments for students, an educational program of high quality for students from primary school to college and master classes for graduates. It holds the main library of the Netherlands in the field of textile heritage, design and art. The museum responds to the need of developing knowledge and experience in the textile area and access to the networks of the (European) Textile industry.

Old knowledge and experience in new developments
The museum holds up-to-date knowledge of textile design and textile products and provides the opportunity to experiment with old and new techniques and materials. Also, it's continuously looking for interesting or innovative textile products.
The TextileLab mainly focuses on design talent with great ambition, art school graduates or talent that is about to break through. Partly because of the good contacts in the textile and design industry the TextileLab is able to offer a varied and high standard collection of textile (art and design) products. All this takes place in the authentic atmosphere of the industrial Mommers complex with a modern meeting place in the form of a shop and a café.
